BACKUP & DISASTER RECOVERY

When something goes wrong, you're back online.

Every business faces a moment where technology fails, data is lost, or an attack gets through. The question isn't whether it will happen, it's how fast you recover and how much you lose. We answer both before anything goes wrong.

QUESTIONS BEFORE A CRISIS

Answers to the two questions that matter most

Whether it’s a failed server, corrupted file, or security incident, your Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) answers two critical questions with key objectives to guide recovery.
How long until you’re back online?

This is your Recovery Time Objective; RTO. It’s the maximum amount of time your business can be without access to its systems before the consequences become serious. For a law firm mid-matter, that might be hours. For a medical practice, it might be less.

How much data can you afford to lose?

This is your Recovery Point Objective; RPO. It’s how far back in time your recovery takes you. If your last backup was 24 hours ago, a recovery event means losing 24 hours of work. For most businesses, that number is unacceptable.

We define both at the start of the engagement instead of after something goes wrong. Those numbers drive how your backup and recovery environment is built. Not the other way around.

HOW WE WORK

Backup is only useful if it actually works

Most businesses have some version of a backup. Very few know whether it would actually work in a recovery scenario. The gap between "we have backup" and "we can recover" is where most plans fall apart.
Local backup
Fast recovery for everyday scenarios. A file gets deleted, a system crashes, a single device fails. Local backup means recovery is measured in minutes.
Cloud Backup
A separate, offsite copy of your data that survives anything that affects your physical location. Fire, flood, hardware failure, or a localized attack, your data exists somewhere it can be restored.
Tested recovery procedures
This is the piece most providers skip. We test your backup regularly to confirm it actually works. Not assumed to work. If something needs to be fixed, we find out during a test, instead of during a crisis.
The result is a backup environment that you can rely on, because we've already confirmed it works.

THE SCENARIO WORTH PLANNING FOR

If a security event locks your systems...

Total Care's layered defenses are built to stop this before it starts. But if something ever gets through, here's what separates a bad day from a bad year.

Security incidents that encrypt or destroy data are among the most operationally damaging events a business can face. The path most organizations without a tested backup take typically takes days, sometimes longer.

WITHOUT PROACTIVE PROTECTION

1

Pay to recover access

2

Negotiate a timeline

3

Hope the data comes back intact

WITH TOTAL CARE

With a tested, current backup and a defined recovery procedure, our recovery process is a technical process instead of a negotiation, meaning your team is back online in just hours. Your data is restored to a known good state and you haven't handed money to the people who attacked you.

No recovery approach is a guarantee, but it's the material difference between having a backup and having a recovery plan.

YOUR INDUSTRY

Recovery requirements aren't the same in every industry

BACKUP & RECOVERY FOR

LEGAL

Losing access to case files, contracts, or client communications mid-matter is a professional crisis. Court deadlines don't pause for a recovery event. Billable hours lost during downtime are gone. And a recovery that takes days rather than hours can damage client relationships that took years to build.
BACKUP & RECOVERY FOR

HEALTHCARE

HIPAA requires documented backup and recovery procedures as a compliance requirement. An unplanned outage in a clinical environment can affect patient care and trigger regulatory scrutiny. We build HIPAA-aligned backup and recovery procedures into every healthcare client engagement, with documentation to match.
BACKUP & RECOVERY FOR

FINANCIAL SERVICES

Transaction records, audit trails, and client financial data must be recoverable to satisfy regulatory expectations. SEC and FINRA guidance increasingly assumes documented recovery capabilities as a baseline. Without them, a recovery event becomes both an operational and a compliance problem simultaneously.
BACKUP & RECOVERY FOR

PROFESSIONAL SERVICES

Client engagements, deliverables, and active project files don't pause because your systems are down. For businesses where deadlines define the client relationship, recovery time is measured in trust as much as hours.
BACKUP & RECOVERY FOR

MANUFACTURING

Production schedules, inventory systems, and customer order data are the operational backbone of a manufacturing business. An outage doesn't stay in IT. It hits the floor, the delivery timeline, and the customer relationship.
BACKUP & RECOVERY FOR

REAL ESTATE

Transaction timelines and deal documentation are time-sensitive by nature. A recovery event mid-transaction with closings, contracts, and wire instructions all in motion, can have consequences well beyond the IT department.

INCLUDED IN TOTAL CARE

Not domething you set up once and hope for the best

Back up and disaster recovery isn't a product you configure and forget. Between software updates, new devices, new data locations, and licensing changes, what worked eighteen months ago may not capture everything that matters today.

Every Total Care client's backup environment is monitored, maintained, and tested continuously. When something changes in your environment, the backup configuration reflects it. When we test recovery, we're testing what you truly have, not a snapshot of how things looked at setup.

This is managed for you. You don't think about it. We will.
